When one has a business that has an online presence, there are certain and specific tools that help promote them. What could they be? Well, this post will highlight three tools that websites should employ and use.
As mentioned in a previous post, having (and using) an Email Service Provider (ESP) is an absolute must. That stated, I have seen too many small businesses rely and use large, faceless providers. All too many use one called MailChimp. In my opinion, it’s OK and functional. In fact, it’s valued at about $12 BILLION!!!
As for me, personally, I’d rather deal with a small business. One that has been operation since 1998 when it was created in a garage. Does THAT story ring any bells? What I really like about AWeber is that it integrates with so many other tools that can boost sales. Having an email list is crucial to any business – online, or offline. Why? Well, because no matter how many followers you have on any/all of the social media platforms, you don’t own that account. No, social media companies allow you to use their services. However, if when you have your own email list (to promote to), you are in complete and total control.
The next tool I suggest that most online presences should have is a tool called DeadlineFunnel. Basically, it’s a countdown timer that, psychologically, adds a sense of urgency with respect to purchases and sales. I know that you, the reader, have definitely seen in action. When one has the first two tools and uses them together, it’s a one-two punch. One, collect emails using a service like AWeber (the one I recommend), and then embed DeadlineFunnel into emails that get sent. Remember, though – be sure to use real and true scarcity. Visitors can “sniff out” false claims and that does not help the business.
The third and final tool that integrates seamlessly with the first two is something that not every online business needs, or could use. When “creative types” (artists), like: musicians, writers, etc. create their pieces of work, many times these can turn into (online) courses they can sell as an additional source of income.
